Reduced XP for alts..

blizz -> wysłany:
Seeming as a lot of people are complaining about the amount of experience required to go from 85-90 (not me), there is an idea - Why don't they introduce something in-game where after you have 2 or 3 level 90 characters, you can reduce the experience required to go from 85 to 90 for your alts IF YOU WANT, making it an option. Too many people have become used to Cata so I guess this will give an option if you want to play casual or not. Sorry I haven't explained it as well but I hope you get the idea.

I keep emphasising on the point on how this is an option - If you don't like it, you don't use it :P

This trouble is if there was an option to level quicker, I believe 99% would take it, because even if you enjoy the leveling process (like me), why spend hours doing something when you don't have to? It's a bit like the LFD tool—you don't have to use it and many claim they prefer the old system of manually finding a group, but almost everyone does because it's so much quicker. When your gaming time is precious, anything that saves time often becomes a must.

So what you are saying is that you are ignoring an issue that 99% of the playerbase (your number) would want and use.....

Sorry, I dont understand, you are saying it woudl be almost universally popular, so thats a reason you dont do it? Does not really compute....

If we put an NPC into the game that gave out free gold, I'm sure that would be universally popular too. But it would pretty much ruin other aspects of the game.

Like my example earlier, if you provide an easier way to do something, most people will take it. But in some cases it diminishes the gameplay experience. With the LFD tool, you simply sign up and the system finds all the team members for you, it even teleports you straight to the dungeon. This is great if you just want to run quick dungeons all night with minimal fuss. But then we had the issue before Mists that many people never left their capital city.

Another thing about making leveling quicker, or making something essential in an MMORPG require less effort if you will, is where do you draw the line? Isn't it just another step towards that instant max level character button?
