Disabling Account Wide Achievements

blizz -> wysłany:
Well, the new patch is here and a lot of it I like and a lot I don't. The main thing I dislike is the account wide achievements, which makes it feel less like I'm playing different characters and more like a single character. The sense of individualism of each character is gone. A level 1 alt I made has the Exalted title (despite being currently exalted with zero factions), the Explorer title (despite never having set foot outside the Elwynn Forest), the Patient title (despite never having even entered a dungeon let alone finished one) and more mounts and pets than I can shake a stick at. Seems kinda pointless levelling up more than one character now seeing as everything I might want to do with them has already been done.

So... any possibility of an option to disable account wide achievements at some point? Maybe a switch you can toggle? An NPC you can talk to who will disable them for a fee? Or simply just have it that only achievements gained on an alt can be displayed on that alt?

Failing that, does anyone know of an addon that disables account wide achievements?

Why bother posting here then? what does it add to the subject, simply writing " i love account wide achis lulz"

Oh, i see, so it took them, what, four years? No, it was not their intentions, they changed it because a certain part of the playerbase kept asking for it, without thinking about the consequences.

The ability to share achievements account-wide was a popular and regular request, and the decision to add this feature was not made lightly, I assure you. As you can see by several of the posts in this thread, many people like the change. However, as with all changes and additions to the game, we are keen to hear your constructive thoughts, ideas and views on this topic.

Account Wide Achievements have drgraded the game for players like me. I had a number of characters progressing and now I just log and think what is the point. Has lost all meaning. Each character was unique and I never confused them with me as a player. If I play another game I can play say a game of football, and then another and each time the score is different. I don't start each game 3 - 0 up and having won the European Cup. Even though I have won the European Cup many times and EA respect that each time I play in Manager Mode I want a unique and different experience. Blizzard just killed all that off in favour of a Facebook option to promote the concept of player and not character. So, as I say, what is the point creating new and different characters. The simple solution is to give players a choice.... But this I guess is just one step further on the path to Real ID of some form.

Hopefully that was constructive, though I doubt anyone is listening.

Thanks :) and as I said in my previous post, the forums allow you to share your views on things like this, so you should always assume we're listening, and often actively searching for this sort of feedback.
