do what they did in TBC with dungeon gear whilst leveling?
the majority of the drops were replicas based on various raid gear from the previous game (vanilla in this case), it made getting dungeon gear more fun, your character did not look like some reject of the battlefield and it is now a decent way of obtaining transmog gear without having to find a group just because ONE boss in that raid (lets see.. reliquary of souls?!) cant be killed on your own.
I don't think it's fair to say "the majority" of TBC dungeon drops were Vanilla raid replicas. I recall a recoloured Tier 2 off the top of my head, that's all. My characters usually look particularly interesting when going through TBC content actually. |

Ah yes, Tier 1 too. The spiky Warrior set *sighs* :) |

Okay, and I'm sure many people feel the same way :) On the other hand though, wouldn't this slightly undermine the effort people had gone to to obtain the original set, especially considering these raids are now so hard to complete, as you pointed out? Another point to think on is the fact that people tend to like new items, new art, new content, over reused items. Wouldn't you rather have access to some cool-looking new items than re-coloured old ones? |
