Wow, I had never imagined to encounter such anti-gay feelings on here -- from players, of course, but not from Blizzard.
The issue is that the mature language filter protects the feelings of many minorities (African-Americans, Hispanics, Italian-Americans, Jews) but not gays. I think Blizzard should extend us all the same sensitivity via the mature language filter. If you turn it off, hey, fair game.
I also maintain that this lack of sensitivity is due to the rampant casual homophobia in the gaming community. Which the previous comments and deletions confirm. If this has been posted before, so what? It obviously has not been addressed. So it bears repeating.
As was linked to you in your previous thread we're addressing the issue in a future patch. We agree there are words in the filter that should not be there, and in addition there are some words missing we'll be adding.
We'd like to repeat that no matter the intent, bypassing the forum profanity filter is not permitted as is indicated clearly in the forum Code of Conduct. You've gone on to violate at least three separate forum rules, in some cases the same rule multiple times. We appreciate your desire to see this issue resolved, which we've indicated is planned to be in a future update, but violating the rules to do so is not acceptable. Please acquaint yourself with the forum Code of Conduct and guidelines before posting again. You can contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions.
