at the end of the expansion? I need justice points for some heirloom items I'm going to get, and I'm sick of running Hour of Twilight dungeons. So, I decide to run some normal heroics... and people still wipe. How? I'm talking about people pulling 6-10k DPS in JP epics (less DPS than I was doing as soon as I hit 85 in quest greens), healers that can't heal worth a damn, and tanks that can't hold any sort of aggro. The kind of things I see in non-HoT dungeons make me sick. A year into the expansion and I still can't PuG a heroic dungeon.

Don't get sick about it. There are a whole host of reasons why individuals randomly put together as a group may not perform according to your standards. But when I read posts like yours, Mootcraw, I often wonder if maybe the poster is expecting the worst out of people when running dungeons. If you're looking for mistakes you'll find them. Perhaps this isn't what you do. Even still, it goes a long way to keep in mind there are a vast array of players out there with varying gameplay experience, social prowess, etc. A lot of times I see people in groups who seem to be silently indignant. And as soon as a mistake is made or they're inconvenienced in some way, they try to make sense of it by arguing that most of their peers are just bad. It's a shame really, 'cause it's actually counterproductive to cooperative play. |

Actually, even if it was that it would at least be somewhat helpful. Some can't take it, but if someone said "OMG Pally you suck!" then added " Run away when you see the circle around Ozruk!" i would learn and do better. heheh Sadly, I think I agree with you. But I do really like what Milsa said. It's so backward that it's almost ironic to me when people are more pleased to put others down than state why they're doing so. Thick skin is always important too though. We are talking about online gaming after all. Not even in a perfect world will trash talking go away. :p |

I've got to say, Zarhym, I sometimes wonder if you blues actually go into randoms. You say you do, but then you insist that there aren't that many bad people. Now, I will note that I haven't encountered too many horrible people in the HoT heroics. Apparently a mere 353 ilevel is enough to keep the real bads out and just leave trolls who deliberately do things like spin around the rogue boss in circles constantly as the tank so that the healer has no one to stand behind so they can heal without getting silenced. But in the regulars? The fail is incredibly strong. Maybe we just have very different perspectives and levels of tolerance. For example, I've never once in my life used the term "bads" to describe a group of people. It's not a part of the gaming culture I care to embrace. People who use it in passing sound so condescending and dismissive that I can't imagine we're going to sit down and hash out contrasting analyses of other players' aptitude levels. Have I grouped with people who were clearly not confident in their role, or people who are intentionally being disruptive? Sure. I still wouldn't say those people define the average group makeup in which I find myself. |

No, because there's a distinction to be made between what I said and what you claim I said. |
