Kindness in WoW

blizz -> wysłany:
So I Log in after a short break from WoW

I see an advert in trade for Black Temple and I wanted the achievement so I joined

Party Composition: Ret Pally (me), Mage, Shaman & Fury Warrior lvl 84 (the leader)

I asked for no loot, nothing, I tanked the whole thing, carried them, saved them from wipes (lol) asking for nothing in return

So we down illidan - the shaman has come for the shield, I just wanted ach, so I was about to leave, then I see pally tier which noone can use and it looks good to transmog for my healing set

the warrior takes the shield from the healing shaman who carried him also
then the tier he cant even use from me, and then has the audacity to ask me to buy it back from him, after everything

some people deserve nothing

It seems pretty obvious, from the reactions here and from my personal in-game experience, that the number of people who act in the manner described by the OP are in a minority. Most of us want to log on, enjoy ourselves and leave feeling positive, which normally involves being friendly to the people we meet.

Sadly, from time to time we come across others who, for whatever reason, don't feel like being polite. As suggested, the best thing to do in these situations is to put those people on ignore, and move on. Beginning a campaign against them may only end with you looking bad as well.

Something I realised recently, after helping a new player get into the game, is that some people just aren't aware of all the unspoken courtesies when it comes to looting.

It may seem crazy to those of us who've been playing for years, but to someone on their first character, needing an item because it has an agility upgrade (despite also having intellect which isn't needed at all to them) might seem like the most harmless thing in the world.

I'm not saying this is the case all the time, just something to possibly bear in mind.

When i was new i pressed Need because Greed sounds so mean, im not greedy lol ;)

Maybe I'm a bit slow, but, when I was new I pressed need quite a lot in low level dungeons, I didn't know what it was, initially, I thought that it meant to roll for the item, since the picture is of a dice, and greed button looks like a gold piece and I thought that it was something to do with getting gold, so sometimes I pressed it when I thought I needed gold. (embarrassed)

Exactly, I've seen this happen first hand. Also, even if you know the do's and don't's of need/greed, it takes a while to learn that, even if an item is better than the one you currently have, it's sometimes generally not acceptable amongst the community to need on it. Again, I'm not saying this is always the reason people need on things that may be better placed with someone else, just that it's probably more common than people would guess.
