The misinformation on talent trees in MoP

blizz -> wysłany:
Everyone thinks that the talent tree as we know it is disappearing and being replaced by the 1 point every 15 levels and thats it. But what people fail to notice is the specialization tab where you will be choosing either Affliction, Demonology or Destruction like you already do today if your a warlock. This will be our talent tree as of today where you will be able to pick up things like Chaos Bolt and Haunt. If they didnt have specialization where would you get these abilities. Im sure they arent taking them out of the game with Affliction depending on Haunt and Demonology depending on Metamorphosis.

They still probably have work to do on specialization but they should of at least mentioned it when they announced the new Talent System.

Here's the blog we posted on the new class changes for the expansion originally during BlizzCon- http://us.battle.net/blizzcon/en/blog/3773320/World_of_Warcraft_Class_Talent_System-10_21_2011

We'll be providing more information as we go along with development too to clear up any additional confusion anyone may have.

In regard to being told about choosing a specialization, here's a snippet from that same blog for reference:

Class Talents vs. Specialization Abilities

So what does this mean for important spec-based spells and abilities like Hammer of the Righteous and Circle of Healing?

At level 10, players will still select a specialization and unlock an iconic class specialization ability. As players level up, they will then automatically learn both class-based and specialization-specific abilities at set intervals. The specialization abilities you learn will be largely comprised of old talents we feel players should have, as well as core class abilities that not every spec needs.
