Since my post is too long jump to the post #22 to read about the new category, 'Popular'.
This is a list with the categories of the forum's members. The common members are not included. I'm still working on my research so if you believe there is a category I forgot to write please inform me. Also if you believe there is something wrong in any of the descriptions feel free to correct them.
I. THE COPIER:
He/She watches over the US forums and when he/she finds something interesting he/she copies it to the EU forums. The only phrase which is not copied is "I found it in the US forums" or something like that.
II. THE DOOMSAYER:
Very common category. He/She speaks about how awfull, horrible, terrible, bad and crappy the game have become. He/She supports that the current expansion / patch will bring WoW's destruction or, in anothe cases, that a specific expansion / patch began to destroy WoW and it slowly dies with every patch. Some times they speak about how another MMO game will beat WoW and bring it to its end showing us the advantages of that MMO and the disandavtages of WoW. If we take their threads serious then we must admit that WoW dies since the TBC expansion
III. THE IRRELEVANT:
The Irrelevant is a guy who talks for irrelevant / offtopic things. Their post is usually only one word (Like "yes" or "no") or a very short sentense that may be relative with the thread's theme sometimes but it is not worth posting really. The Irrelevant guys are usually Hidden too (See below).
IV. THE HIDDEN:
The Hidden guy is a very common category. He/she is everyone who's hidding behind a level 1 alt (some people level them up to level 5 usually) where the only thing you can see in his avatar is a shadowy figure. The Hidden guys are very comfortable and they usually post crappy / trollish things in the forums without fearing beeing ashamed / blamed and such. Although most people seeing these shadowy figures do not take so serious their posts.
V. THE LEAVER:
The Leaver shares very simillarities with the Doomsayer. The Leaver is someone who (rage) quits WoW but first he/she feels the need to post a thread in the forums speaking about how awfull, terrible, horrible, bad, crappy and boring WoW have become after a specific expansion. He then reveals his feelings about the changes that brings WoW slowly to its destruction and in some cases he/she shares with us some of his memories from the "old good days". According to my research most Leavers claim that they played the game since its release.
VI. THE QUOTER:
The Quoters are those who quote someone who previously spoke to that thread showing us that he agrees with him. Their post contains nothing else but the quote except some rare times where they anser with a "This". It is very possible that the... Quote Plague will start to spread and a large number of members will start to quote the same post, spamming the thread and driving off all the seriousness the thread could have.
VII.THE WINNER:
The Winners are those who post a smart-!@# answer and believing they said something cool and smart the following phrase follows: "What do I win?" or "/thread". The Winner guys are usually Hidden too.
VIII. THE WANNABE MOD:
Extremely rare category. A Wannabe Mod is a guy who answers only in threads that looks trollish and generally that break the forum's rules. The phrase "Forum Guidelines - Please Read" following with the link to the Forum Guidelines is the only answer you will ever read from this guy. Currently only one person is known belonging to this category.
IX. THE BLUE:
The Blues are the modetaros of the forum. The color of their posts' text is Blue (hence the name). They are very helpfull guys. But you will be lucky if you find a Blue post, their posts are very rare. Although if you happen to a thread speaking about how awesome, amazing, cool and great WoW, or a feauture of the game, is then the chance to see a Blue post is increased. They don't like the people who ask for a Blue answer. If you want to find one of them go to the forum category "Support", beeing answered by a Blue there is guaranteed.
X. MVP:
MVPs are made so Blues don't have to post these rare times they decide to do so. Their text's color is green so their post will look so serious and official like the Blue ones. The number of their posts is a bit bigger than the Blues'. According to a red talking skull, MVPs wear googles, pink dresses and hit people with fish, that's propably why Blizzard choosed them.
As much as we love our MVPs, I'll have to make a small correction here. MVPs are actually chosen and appointed because they have proven themselves to be helpful and active members of the community, not to post on the blues' behalf. Although we certainly appreciate all the advice they give to the players on a regular basis :) |
