Ok, here's the deal, I know the why you have censoring Blizzard, there are probably some 12-year olds on this site and you don't want to subject them to a constant of <snip> and <snip>. But some words you censor are just ridiculous.
For example, try to write these words in the correct spelling:
<snip>. (Which also means "glad")
<snip>.
<snip> (National socialists isn't censored, though)
<snip>
<snip>
You'll find out that you can't, they get censored. Now, Blizz, why do you censor these words, that you censor words for homosexual persons is just ludicrous. That you censor <snip> is jst laughable, they're <snip> twelve! You don't think their fragile small ears cannot handle the name of a certain dictator?
Swearwords I see why you're censoring them, but <snip>? Come on!

Please re-read the section in the forum Code of Conduct regarding inappropriate language, and our policy on bypassing the filters: http://eu.battle.net/en/community/conduct#language
The filters are here for a number of reasons, a major one being that the forums allow players to discuss our games and other related topics in a friendly way, and certain words, terms or names are often used in a negative or abusive way, which then leads to further negative responses. Having the filter in place not only shields people from having to see obscene language, it also serves to warn people that they are probably crossing a line, and should try to re-phrase what they want to say without resorting to bad language, insults or name-calling. Granted, occasionally the filter will affect a word that is not meant in an offensive way, but our moderators can determine how the word was intended. |
