I understand that Blizzard's naming policy only takes effect if someone actually reports the name, but once the name has been flagged as violating the naming policy, why isn't it changed for all the identical names on other servers? and why isn't the name banned from being created for new characters as well? Surely that would reduce the future workload of game masters.

We do actually have an internal blacklisting system but it's not as simple as 'flagging' inappropriate names. There are a lot of variables (policy, language and context being the main ones) that we need to take into account. So, we just blacklist the really unambiguous names, which prevents them from being created again.
But, this will never be a substitute for player reports. If you find a name offensive then please report it to a Game Master and we will decide if it needs changing/blacklisting or not. Thanks. |

Muros, we will never change a name simply because somebody asks us to. We will only ever change a character/Guild/Arena Team name if it violates our naming policies, which can be found here:
