and like much of this expansion is focuses on Thrall and the Orcs and the horde and their city. I think there was there is another major lore character involved too, can't remember his name...Malfrank something...he has alliance ties so I didn't expect to see him.
Blizzard, you have done a poor, poor job of giving alliance any spotlight this expansion. Go ahead and delete the post if you want. |

If you think Malfurion and the Guardians of Hyjal don't have a role to play in this patch, go do the new Regrowth and Molten Front daily quests when they're available.
Malfurion is as centric an Alliance character right now as Thrall is a central Horde character -- that is to say, not much. To say this trailer in any way focuses more on the Horde than the Alliance is to ignore the overarching story unfolding. It is our goal to push the story forward, and character development is a big part of that -- particularly in the case of Thrall this expansion, who left the Horde behind to try and save the world. If your main concern with story is ensuring both factions are equally represented in each video, sorry. Besides, your city got jacked in the official Cataclysm cinematic. It's the Horde's turn to watch their greatest city burn. :p Orgrimmar is a short distance away from Mount Hyjal, which Ragnaros wants to level. Thrall, now an agent of all life on Azeroth, is still the Son of Durotan. Seeing the thriving city he was responsible for shaping get consumed in fire is alarming to him. It's but a taste of what the whole of Azeroth will experience if the Firelord isn't stopped. And Thrall knows it.

It's almost like we're trying to build upon something with Thrall here... especially given there's a pretty major questline centered around him in this patch (which relates entirely to the trailer). Could we have made the trailer entirely about the Guardians of Hyjal and their fight against Ragnaros? Sure. Would it have encompassed the broader story behind patch 4.2 and the Cataclysm expansion as well? Definitely not. |

Really? You sure aren't helping the cause by boiling everything I say down into a gross misrepresentation. I guess you find that useful when trying to be persuasive... But thank you as well, in any event, for showing me I shouldn't be spending any more of my time on this topic. You see Checkers where we see Chess. |
