This is simply an outrage, it has almost been 20 years since the question thread went up and we still do not have the answers to it. I politely request that the blues post these answers as soon as they are able to do it, and ask the community to join with me in humble acceptance of the Blizzard timetable.
Thank you.
I dunno. He holds himself in shockingly high esteem. |

We did some house cleaning. |

Next week. The primary focus of our developers is on developing the game, so we need to work within their time frame to get answers, then allow time for those answers to be translated into our supported languages. Most of the information we release goes out around the world, so there's a lot of work behind the scenes to coordinate things globally. :) |

For your post to make any sense, we have to entertain the assumption that the members of my team, the developers, and those who localize all World of Warcraft text do nothing but wait for community Q&A. That... is absurd. What does our team have to do other than collect and send your questions along to the developers? We have to work with several different departments to learn and write about a good portion of the information being shared on our websites and forums for all of our games, while also maintaining a presence on the forums. What do the developers have to do other than answer some questions about their plans for development? They have to actually develop the game. What do our localization teams have to do other than translate the answers to the questions you asked? They have to translate every piece of information on each of our websites, and in each of our games (a new patch = a lot of information to translate). Also consider the fact that these localization teams are in their representative regions, so employees in Korea are not working on translating the answers to Ask the Devs #9 right now. It's Saturday morning there. When I said it's a lot of work, I was referring to the full gamut of information flow from our company, not just the dev Q&As. There are always plenty of tasks on everyone's plates, and those tasks must be prioritized by project managers and producers.
I appreciate that you acknowledge you understand how much more complicated things can actually be behind the scenes, after taking a few paragraphs to tear us apart for something you don't really have a scope on. :) |
