RealID cross realm dungeon grouping thread #6

blizz -> wysłany:

With the continued popularity of the Dungeon Finder, many players have been asking for a way to group up with real-life friends who play on other realms to take on instances together. Today, we wanted to give you a heads up about a new feature currently in development that will allow players to invite Real ID friends ( http://us.battle.net/en/realid/ ) of the same faction to a party regardless of the realm they play on, and then queue up for a 5-player regular or Heroic dungeon.

As this is a fairly complex service to develop, we don’t have a release date to share quite yet. It’s important to note that as with some of the other convenience- and connectivity-oriented features we offer, certain elements of the cross-realm Real ID party system will be premium-based, though only the player sending the invitations will need to have access to the premium service. We'll have more details to share with you as development progresses -- in the meantime, you may begin to see elements of the feature appear on the World of Warcraft PTR.

Since the Sticky got capped and the second, third, and fourth threads have as well a new one must be made.

I have to agree here Blizz, it certainly doesn't help the case that you aren't nickle and diming us. This really shouldn't be a premium service.

Locked. Neth's eyes settle upon you now, brave Taeror.

It's true, I'm watching. But my hope is that by locking the other thread it exhibits that I (and others here) are keeping a close eye on these not only for constructive feedback and discussion, but also watching out for ongoing flaming, trolling, and Code of Conduct violations.

We wouldn't have posted what little we have to share with you if we didn't think it was important to share it within its context and then get that constructive feedback. We're not trying to do anything clandestine here nor are we trying to cause anyone stress or durress. I'm going to go out on a limb and make a couple of promises (which I try not to do.) I promise you that we will take all due consideration into what is being said no matter what the end result is. I also promise that we will do our utmost to share with you as much information with you all including the cost, any limitations, accessiblity, how it works and more, once we have that information to share. We're not taking any of this lightly.

There have been a lot of very strange speculation discussions ocurring that have made us scratch our collective heads. Please try to give us the benefit of the doubt that we want this service to be beneficial and as accessible as possible. Again, we are not making easy decisions here. If they were easy, we would have had every answer you wanted already.

I'd like to encourage everyone to please try to cut back on the conspiracy theories in these threads. They're not productive or constructive to these discussions and lead to some nasty flame wars or inferences.
blizz -> wysłany:

If there is any collective head scratching among Blizz headquarters, then this strongly suggests a dsconnection with the players as a whole. Charging players premuims on mechanics and features that should naturally be included with the subscription fee will always get the negative reaction from the playerbase...and rightfully so. The only solution to this is to drop the premium requirements entirely and have everyone who plays WoW have access to it. With the risk of sounding cliché, it's really that simple. Nobody wants to pay extra for this.

There is no collective head scratching about the feedback we've seen nor was the negative reaction unexpected as well. This is a large community with a lot of different viewpoints and ideas. We're completely open to that.

Please note that when I mentioned that it was in regard to some of the more bizarre conspiracy theories we've seen. Please try to refrain from implying that we are or are not aware of the context by which reactions are being made.

Simple is terribly subjective.

Again, I want to reiterate that we recognize and acknowledge the feelings and ideas being expressed here. By no means does that mean that inflammatory or insulting language toward us or others will be tolerated however. This is merely a discussion and there's no reason for it to be more than one.

So who did you have to draw straws with to have to make this feature open to the public.

We don't draw straws. We're not that fragile really and are fine with being as straight up as we can be with you all. Often we have to lay claim to something so that no one else on the team doubles-up on posts or work.
