I'll start at the beginning. Yesterday, my girlfriend spent a couple hours picking the herbs that are required to level Alchemy from 1-525 in hopes of selling a package deal; that way, the person leveling alchemy had everything they needed from the start which makes it a LOT easier. Now, she had me asking around in trade chat to come up with a buyer for her "package" deal of herbs.
I asked around in trade chat for a while until I finally had a buyer. I told the buyer that we were looking for 10k for all of the herbs combined; we then agreed upon 9k. I then told him that we would send everything C.O.D., in order to ensure that he didn't feel like he would be getting ripped off; he said okay, that's perfect. So we ended up sending everything to him in 6 separate C.O.D. messages for 1500g apiece (yep, 9k) and awaited his response. Today, my girlfriend logs onto her account, and looks to find out that he had paid the amount, then proceeded to collect her gold. A few minutes later she gets disconnected from the server. She tried logging back in only to be greeted by the message stating that her account has been closed, and is no longer available for use.
After a call to Blizzard she begins talking to a man who can not explain to her why her account was banned; no emails were sent at that time. Ten minutes after the call she received an email stating that she was banned because of her receiving "out of game currency". Blizzard can check their own logs, and see that there was never any mention WHATSOEVER about selling the items for anything other than gold; if they look even closer, they can see that she was given gold for the transaction!
Multiple attempts at trying to call Blizzard lands us another email stating that they aren't going to do anything about the misunderstanding.
Now, does this mean that everyone that makes any type of transaction in this game should be banned? What is the C.O.D. mailing system supposed to be used for, if not for transactions being made? Should everyone utilizing the Auction house be made to forfeit their accounts as well? They have done her an injustice and I would like to have it undone.
Likely because you are contacting the incorrect department to dispute the action. Our Billing & Account Services folks (the only ones contactable via phone, along with Technical Support) cannot assist with such account closures or suspensions. Your girlfriend will want to e-mail Account Administration via [email protected] to have this situation reviewed. I can take a look and possibly provide additional insight, but as it regards an account that is not in your name, I may be limited in the information I can provide. Still, if you can provide me with a name and realm of a character from your girlfriend's account, I'm happy to see what I can find. |

This is, unfortunately, going to take much more investigation than I am able to conduct on my own. I'm forwarding the case along to have it looked into a second time, but I think it may be best to keep communication between our reps and your girlfriend at this time. Mostly for her privacy. >^.^<
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. |

It's not to say I don't have a lot - I do. But this is a bit of an... unusual case. What was your guild leader's name/realm, Meaney? If the situation is similar, I'll be happy to forward it along as well. Understand, however, that they may be different cases entirely. |

Meaney, after taking a look into the situation, I'm afraid the case with your guild leader was a *very* different case. Regrettably, I'm afraid I won't be able to assist further with the situation.
As a reminder, those of us here on the forums are not always able to directly able to assist in many situations. To deter this from becoming a "me too" thread and not provide any unintentionally false hope for other, unrelated situations, I'm going to go ahead and lock it. Thanks folks. |
