I was recently given a one week ban from the forums for a thread I created which had a "bad" word for butt in it and another "bad" word, both words are two very mild curse words, nothing over the top offensive, two words that you hear on any television show any night of the week.
This infuriated me. Not because I was banned from the forum, this forum is nothing special anyway, but because I have seen way worse things in game and on this forum. If you're going to police the forums like this, then police the game like this too.
I have reported a player several times in game for having an inappropriate name. It still has not been changed. I have reported a player who queues for Tol Barad and spams raid chat with a macro of racist slurs the entire time. This player still continues the behavior. I have reported countless spam involving a certain part of your rear end in trade chat. The same players still post the same thing every single day. I've reported a guy who says racist and homophobic remarks in trade chat repeatedly, no action has been taken or he wouldn't continue it every time I log horde side and see him in trade.
So why are we being banned from the forums for mild curse words but in game much worse things go on daily, are reported to a GM and are subsequently completely written off and ignored?
Do your employees have any rules and regulations to follow? Seems like a pretty chill job to me. Sit back, receive a ticket, ignore the ticket and sit back some more. I know not all GMs are like this, I have had a few gms resolve my problems very professionally, but the vast majority seem to be guys just getting a paycheck for doing what a computer could do just as good.
Or is it because once we're in game we're paid up? We're there playing. You've got our 15 bucks and really couldn't care less. Your employees need guidelines. They need to enforce the rules correctly or not enforce them at all instead of playing Russian roulette with GM tickets.
After WoW is done and over with, and we've moved to the next MMO, I know one thing that will stand out in my mind and many other players mind from our WoW experience. The lackluster customer service.
