Sigh. I saw this type of post a few times by players in this thread after jumping in with a quick little post about something amusing, and it to some extent boggles me. It seems that some players expect every post made by a blue to be "answering someones direct question", or something of the sorts. Yes, posting information is also part of our job, and if they had looked through the forums yesterday, there were a total of 3 other blue tagged threads in addition to this one just on the first page with useful or helpful information. One of them even has a lot of questions/answers and is stickied up top... Alas, I digress. We have stated many times that we read the threads that are on these forums and pass information on when it is relevant. This process also, unfortunately, means that we get to read quite a lot of angry/ranting/down right abusive threads amidst the constructive ones. We do it, and even then -- despite moderating and/deleting such threads -- if the subject is valid it is noted down for further investigation. Then, sometimes we come across threads or posts that give us a chuckle. These are often a breath of fresh air compared to cleaning up the mess people create by breaking forum rules. Giving a nice little comment, or a thanks, or a witty reply, is also a way of letting people know we are around. That we are reading things. That we are human. That their post(s) made our day a little brighter at work. These types of posts are also a part of our job, and we will continue making them from time to time. Players that have a problem with this probably should take a step back and simply not post replies in such threads, rather than post to complain about it. To end this post and get back on topic, the league of extraordinarily tactful rogues also feel misrepresented and would like to extend an invitation to their friends, the wild animal druids, to stealth in one by one... |
