GM told me to ask a Community Manager

blizz -> wysłany:
I spoke to a GM yesterday in regards to a realm wide event I was planning for the summer.

I asked if it was possible to enlist help from a GM if the event looked like it was going to be big and involved many players. Their first response was an outright no.

I asked them to check because I heard that in the past GMs have been involved in this kind of thing in the past, the GM took some time to consider and check and did not have an answer for me. Instead they recommended that I come to the forums and ask a Community Manager.

Knowing that this was against forum rules, I asked the GM to provide me an email address so that I could contact the relevant team. However the GM could not provide this to me.

I am sorry that I know this is against the forum rules but I feel like I have no choice.

So my question is...

If we have an event that is large enough, would it be possible in theory at least, to have either a CM or a GM help with small aspects to make sure that all runs smoothly?

A little detail about the event:

This Summer we will be hosting our Summer Games event. We ran this event last year among friends with over 100 players involved. Players form teams of 5 players (traditional tank/healer/dps teams). This year I would like to extend the invitation realm wide and considering its popularity and complexity it would have been awesome to get a little GM help.

The Summer Games consist of many events:

Heroic Racing (PVE)
Capture and Hold (World PVP)
Chain Gang (A Creative RPish event)
Screenshot competition (Where players try to match screenshots posted on a website)
Lawn Darts (Players have to jump off of cliffs to land as close to a marker as possible)
Finishing off with a Quiz Night (with a twist) and Prize giving.

As others have mentioned, Firelash, the ideal place to share information about your event is in the Events and Fan Creation Forums. There seems to be a misunderstanding though, in regards to the kind of help we can give you. We can certainly highlight this event for you in the Community News, however, our in-game representatives are there to help people who are having in-game issues.

I'll lock this thread up now, but we wish you the very best of luck with the event :)
