Change last name on my account?

blizz -> wysłany:
Cant understand the reason why the only way to change last name on account is marrage? Blizzard maybe means that is should not be so easy to sell characters wich I understand. I understand the purpose but its not logical. People buy and sell their characters anyway but the hole battle net accounts.

I want to transfer this character to another account and i´m gonne tell you why. This is my friends account and at start he wasnt playing much at all becouse he tired on it quit quickly. So he let me played on this account if i wanted to, wich was a great way for me killing some time. I finally leveled this character to 85 and suddenly he wanted to play WoW again.. And by that I had to create my own account ofcourse.. Bought all games digitaly on my battle net account and ofcourse in my own name.. I really miss my warlock and have no strenght to level a new one wich most of you can understand. I really hope blizzard gonne think this over=)

Hello there Wrácth.

The answer to your question is a simple one. It isn’t possible because if people follow the rules then there is no need to change the last name on an account unless a person’s actual last name changes (e.g. when they get married as you mentioned in your own post). And I'm afraid common sense dictates that we are not in the habit of helping our customers to break our own rules.

So he let me played on this account

Unfortunately, this was where it all started going wrong. If you had read the end user licence agreement or our policies before just jumping in blindly, you would have noticed that this is not allowed because it has the potential to cause many different problems, one of which you are experiencing right now.

I'm afraid that the Warlock character belongs to one person and one person only, your friend, and ownership of it cannot be transferred at all.

I'm sorry about that Wrácth, but I hope that you find the strength to try the Warlock class again at some point in the future.

What about the first name? I wish to change it to english equivalent of my native name (so the same name, just the different language version), purely out of convenience when my english speaking friends see me on Real ID. I know it's a very minor issue but it's been bugging me for a long time.

This may be possible (being as it is actually your name) but you would need to contact Account & Payment Support for more information.

Not really. That only applies to sharing the account details. I'm free to let, for example, my brother play if I'm the one logging in etc.. Unless I overlooked something, which is entirely possible :)

I'm afraid that isn't allowed either. =(

How about when it is actually you but you've put a fake name when you created your account?

Although providing us with fake details is also against our Terms of Use, our Account & Payment Support team may be able to assist you being as it is your real name you are changing to. They will of course ask for ID and perform the necessary anti-fraud checks, but if it is your real name then they will do their best to assist.

Blizzard owns all the characters, everyone is just able to play the ones on their own account.

I'm not going to discuss the technicalities of the term here, but I was referring to the context of this particular case and the reasoning behind our decision not to assist the OP.

I really wish you could change the name on an account. When Blizzard started pushing Battle.net accounts back a few years ago I quickly created this account and when I entered my information I used shorter forms of my first and last name because at the time I didn't plan on using it. But when I decided to start playing on EU severs I didn't want it on the same Battle.net account as my US accounts so without thinking of checking the name I added them to this account. Now if I ever have trouble with my account I might be in big trouble because my account name isn't the same as it would appear on any of my ID.

Again, this should be something we can help with.
