Why can't people talk about their bans?

blizz -> wysłany:
Or probations or other disciplinary actions taken against them? I'm just asking generally. I understand it's in the ToS et al, but it doesn't really explain why we're Blizzard doesn't want us to talk about these things.

Can someone enlighten me

ps: sorry if this is the wrong forum to bring this up, no other seemed appropriate.

The forums were designed for players to come together and have a place to discuss game related topics in a civil and constructive manner. Discussing in-game or forum account actions, however, are not considered game related topics and are meant to remain private. Hence the Code of Conduct guideline:

http://us.battle.net/en/community/conduct#discipline

Discussing Disciplinary Actions
This category includes:

  • Creating posts or threads to discuss disciplinary actions taken against a player, including chat logs and email correspondence between a player and a Game Master (GM)

  • Creating posts or threads to discuss disciplinary actions taken against a character or account on the forums

  • If a player is found to have participated in such actions, he/she will:

  • Be given a temporary ban from the forums, depending upon severity

  • Each department has it’s own channels that you can use to express comments or concerns:

  • Forums: [email protected]

  • GMs: [email protected]

  • well, that makes sense. It just seemed odd that there's a gag order on these things. I guess I just think that some players might use the opportunity to show where they messed up socially so that others would learn from their bad behaviour, but I can see that it would really get the trolls roaring as well.

    Thanks for the good answers :)

    We all make misteaks, I know I have. =) Oops!
