"One should of course never say never, but it is rather unlikely that we will make flying possible in those TBC starting zones."
http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/1689709688?page=1#10 Probably equally unlikely that they'll address the broken time line of the Outland and Northrend excursions. Those areas of the game are a bit of a mess. Why not clean them up in a content patch? |

While you may be disappointed, this is simply a matter of the changes that would be required for these zones being considerable and the payoff being minimal at best. There is nothing within those zones that would need or require a flying mount either. We had to make a choice about allocating resources, and just couldn't reconcile the time and effort with the end result.
As for Outland, we've mentioned before that we wouldn't mind revisiting it at some point in time, but whether or not that happens is still up in the air. Again, we come back to an issue of how that would happen, why it would happen, and what sorts of resources would be needed to make it happen as a part of a larger goal of continuing to advance the game as a whole. |

Except the wall is already nicely painted. You just want wainscoting added. Which is nice and all but isn't necessary. Being able to fly isn't going to make the experience better. It's already a great experience there. We get this response a lot, but we're making smart decisions that involve the future development of the game and have put a lot of work into Cataclysm. We have more plans in store for the expansion and game as a whole as well that we are working toward. |

That's OK though, because you can see clearly that the room has a slightly different feel and theme going for it. You can't see directly into it from the other rooms, you have to sort of go around the corner first. So if it doesn't have the same color theme it still has a similar style, it still fits, just in a different way. I have no doubt, being able to fly might make the Achievements for exploration easier, but Achievements are optional. Flying is a convenience at that point and not a necessity. |
