Sorry for posting this here but I'm unable to find the right forum to post suggestions anywhere.
I was thinking about the new JP and VP system which seems to great for the most part.
However looking at the time it takes to gear up (especially in my guild) and the countless dissapoints you get for wiping in HC due to people not knowing what the heck there are doing/need to be doing etc. etc.
I was thinking why a system convertion say like 10 JP to 1 VP haven't been put in the game.
I don't believe the current buy 20 ores for 2000 JP is what people want to get for there hard earned JP. Most people want to see end-game content and they want the gear to do so, so why not give them a way to use their now out of date JP to have a value by converting them into VP so they can buy the epics they need to do a good raid.
I know epics aren't the only viable need to have a good raid but it goes a long way.
You still need to do your daily HC and you still get the most JP from bosses in HC so this conversion shouldn't harm the way people enter dungeons, but it will give people a glance of hope they will get there epic gear just a tad faster.
Another good thing will be that people would want to do all bosses instead of skipping the bosses they don't "need" to do to get their VP like Lockmaw in Lost City of the Tol'vir. That boss is almost always skipped if I'm not playing on my tank and the 3 bosses on second floor in Halls of Origination are skippede too because people only joined up for their 70 VP for the daily. That leaves up to 4 players hanging with bosses that might drop things they could use but the last guy/girl doesn't 'need'.
I actually never accused anyone of it, nor suggested doing so would be a bad thing. And what's wrong with a bit of humour anyhow? A world without it is a world I hope I never find myself living in. But back on topic, thanks for your feedback everyone. It's obvious as with many things discussed in this forum, there's active support for multiple perspectives on the matter. Should we ever wish to change our view on point conversion, we will endeavour to let you know. We might even do so without using a deadpan tone. |
