What's up with all the flaming on the forums?

blizz -> wysłany:
Right, first to give a small introduction. I know somewhere there is a post about todays WoW community in LFD beeing absolutly horrible.

Yet that's not the only place where people are beeing flammed for beeing themselfs and liking / expressing what they feel about World of Warcraft.

With realID ( whether people like it or not ) Blizzard wanted the forums to be a safe heaven to give your opinion, without getting flammed by lvl 1's ( or lvl 55's DK's ) I was against it, but the more and more I read these forums ( who have been my home for several years, and they give me something to discuss and read ) it has turned into the real world. Where people's opinion is punished and no one can take criticism anymore.

Yes, it is the Internet, and you probably are at home sitting behind your PC thinking you can do whatever you want. Yet sometimes I wish for realID on these forums, to stop all this nonsense. And I do know I will probably get flamed for this, but to show you how fed up the forums can be I post on my main.

In the changes from Classic > TBC > WotLK > Cataclysm, people have been seeing the other players rather as a no-one, then actually a person with feelings and opinions. You can't even express your opinion for someone, or make a serious post, where people immediatly derail it by saying " You're a noob " " l2p " or any other likewise comment.

I noticed in the past several years I have been coming less and less to these forums. The only forum I actually read is the Mage and Warrior forums, and that is basicly it. Mostly because I am leveling a warrior, but also the fact that ( for some reason ) there is more "Brotherhood" on class-forums then the others.

And no, I cannot leave these forums, as it has been my home for several years. I wish I could, but the community and social aspect of this game was so good back in the days, that only now it became a sad puddle of mud.

And I honestly don't care what the lvl 1's / 55's DK's will say here ( and there will probably be some funny guys aswell )

Now Blue-posters can't cut themselfs in half, they can't be everywhere at the same time, but I know they're doing their best to keep this forum civilised. Yet we cannot keep reporting when a player does anything that is against the Code of Conduct all the time.

[Moderation: Replaced a bad word.]

To Moderator: Sorry for the swear-word! :(

Unfortunately you're right, there can be quite a lot of poor behaviour going on in the forums each day. And if there wasn't quite as much of it as there is, requiring our team to spend most of our time trying to remove it, we'd have a lot more time for other things. Like actually responding to those people, like yourself, who actually post constructively. It can be an on-going struggle. But we are trying hard each day to curtail this behaviour on the forums and encourage more constructive posting, and it's obvious to us that some players are also trying to as well.

What would help a lot is if people take more advantage of the voting system, and actually vote down or report the posts from players who are flaming, being disruptive or simply posting essentially useless clutter.
