Cataclysm Heroics being nerfed secretly.

blizz -> wysłany:
Ok so here is my rant. Im a tank, and not super geared. When I first started getting into heroics they were tough. almost every trash mob had to be CC'd in order to defeat them without healer going oom everytime or the group wiping.

Here we are a few weeks later, and it seems like it back to WotLK heroics almost. More times than not i will run into a group of 3-5 mobs and just aoe them down. What happened to our unspoken agreement about keeping the heroics hard and forcing players to learn how to play better Blizzard? Yes, im QQing

Any changes that have been made to select dungeons or encounters in Cataclysm have been listed in our hotfixes blog: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/1232869#blog

As far as changes specifically made to decrease difficulty go, they've been few and far between. Most of them were fixes to specific abilities or encounters which were difficult in unintended ways. Heroic Deadmines is the only dungeon I can think of off the top of my head where we did intentionally tone down the difficulty a bit.

Your perception of the dungeons becoming easier is far more likely a result of players gaining better gear and more experience running each dungeon. That is exactly the design intent behind these dungeons becoming easier over time. Right now Heroic dungeons are a relatively small step below the highest raid tier in the game. This will change over time, making them more accessible.

You're nerfing them, though. You're doing it one trash mob or one boss at a time, but the end result will be the same. Within a month, heroics won't be the same they were at the start.

Okay. Thanks for responding. :)

@Primigenia LOL! that post made my day. agreed.

For the sake of arguement I will go ahead and put together a list of all the nerfs since the lauch of cata in heroics. Go through all the patch notes, and see what we come up with.

Since you'll undoubtedly not distinguish between a nerf and a bug fix (since you can argue a bug fix can still be a nerf), you should also supply a list of all of the buffs too. Full perspective is so much more fun than selective evidence. :)

I don't really care. That will help my alts more than anything, but Blizzard openly say that they will not nerf them and then just go and do just that. They should at least be honest with what they do.

Do you have that statement listed somewhere for reference? I don't believe we ever said we refuse to nerf Heroic dungeons. What we've been trying communicate is that it wasn't our plan to make sweeping nerfs to Heroics within the first month of the expansion's release. We will continue tuning dungeons, trash, boss encounters, and abilities. Some of those changes will involve nerfs. This act just shouldn't be misconstrued as us changing our minds, or a sign that we're unhappy with the general level of difficulty of all Heroics.

We don't think it was a mistake to start with the difficulty we did. We're happy overall with the progression path we have in Cataclysm. I think we've set an appropriate standard for this expansion, but we'll continue fine-tuning things (nerfs and buffs) to make sure the end game feels right as time passes.
