So the new pets are here. I was actually looking forward to these, since it was announced at Blizzcon 2010 that 100% of the money would be donated to charity. Donating to charity and getting a free pet sounded like a nice deal.
But now it turns out that only 50% of the price of one of the pets will go to charity. Blizzard, what gives?

As with the Pandaren Monk last year, we will donate 50% of the Moonkin Hatchling's €10/£9 purchase price to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Thanks to everyone who bought the Pandaren Monk mini pet last year, we were thrilled to be able to donate more than $1.1 million to the charity in February, and we're looking forward to making another hefty contribution after the close of this promotion :-) |
