Valor changes in 6.0 - Item Upgrades gone?

blizz -> wysłany:
Blizzard, I have a few questions regarding the changes coming in 6.0. I know that valor is being removed as a currency and this leaves several giant questions.

1. If there is no more valor, no more item upgrading, whats going to happen to the gear we have currently upgraded? How about the gear that we didnt get to yet? Will all future drops be 0/4 upgrade ilvl or would it be 4/4?

2. If valor is being removed in 6.0, does that mean the legendary cloak will become unobtainable? Test of valor would not be possible to finish.
blizz -> wysłany:
As a couple posters have mentioned, we're planning to remove the Test of Valor step from the Legendary chain.

Regarding item upgrades, those are being converted to use Lesser Charms of Good Fortune as currency instead of Justice or Valor.

wait the gear i upgraded is reverting back to 0/4 status?

No, gear that's already been upgraded will keep its current upgrade status. The only change is that, if you want to upgrade another item, you'll spend Lesser Charms instead of Valor.

Will the test of valor be removed pre-6.0? Must admit, the only truly annoying part about the quest is that. :/

No plans to remove Test of Valor prior to 6.0, no.

About the lesser charms though, I'm sitting on around 12,000 of them, clearly I'm going to run out of things to upgrade. What's going to happen to all of my excess charms?

Aside from item upgrades (which will only be available on Mists of Pandaria items), and Warforged Seals (which will only function in Siege of Orgrimmar), we have no additional plans for Lesser Charms.

Ah well, least I know I can keep turning them in for seals and then disenchanting what I get.

One other related change worth mentioning is that the turn-in quest for Warforged Seals is having its weekly restriction lifted in 6.0, so you can get as many Warforged Seals as you have charms for!

1. How many Lesser Charms will each upgrade cost? I am hoping that it isn't 1000 Lesser Charms to upgrade an item 4/4 like it is 1000 VP.
2. Is there any cap on how many times you can upgrade items with Lesser Charms in a week? I.E, if I have a toon with 17,000 charms, can I just upgrade a massive amount of items as soon as 6.0 goes live?

1. It's currently set to 50 Lesser Charms per upgrade, but that number isn't set in stone.
2. There are no additional caps being added for upgrades. Keep in mind that you can only upgrade each item a limited number of times.

What's going to happen to the valor vendors?

I'm going to miss having that as a fallback to get upgrades.

Nearly everything that previously was purchased with Valor (or Justice) will now be purchased with gold instead. The only exception I'm aware of is Item Upgrades.

i thought item upgrades were going away? and what will come of all our excess lesser charms?

We're not carrying over the Item Upgrades system to new gear added in Warlords of Draenor. We are, however, continuing to support it for the gear it's already available on from Mists of Pandaria.

Hey Lore, do you know if the price for looms in beta right now is a placeholder? All looms that were previously JP bought are now 475 gold. Is this the final price?

The prices are not final, no.

When this change happens, will our valor points be converted to another currency?

Apologies for the delay in getting back about this, but yes, Justice and Valor will be converted to gold.
